I Baked Something Fancy!

Apple Brown-Butter JalousieInspired by beautiful pictures and the author’s reassurance that it really was easy, I actually attempted to bake something, a pastry-something no less! I purchased the most recent Fine Cooking magazine mainly for some Indian recipes but while going through it I came across a recipe for Apple Brown-Butter Jalousie (the link is to an article preview only - sorry!). I needed a dessert, and since I’m still enjoying Christmas break and had some time to bake, I decided to give it a try. When I actually had puff pastry dough in the freezer I knew this was meant to be!

It was easier than I expected and I really did feel like a(n amateur) pastry chef when I served it. Hey, it’s a start! So if you’re in the mood for something sweet, I highly recommend this one.
